I love Diana Wynne Jones. Ours is a true love which has stood the test of time. From the moment I first picked up Witch Week as a sprog, I knew that I would love her forever.
I have no idea what it is about this series, but it zaps me into Shiny Happy Person mode every time. I finished Howl earlier this week and couldn't bear to leave the universe, so I started this one (after a brief attempt at Mercedes Lackey... that one may stay unfinished).
Okay, there are wizards. And flying carpets. And clever ladies. And an effusive fried squid vendor. What is there not to like? This one isn't quite as strong as Howl's Moving Castle, but it was still fairly delightful.
I'm reading the third book next! I'll be so sad when this series is over.
